About PEMBANGUNAN SUMBER MANUSIA BERHAD

( HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT FUND )

Established in 1993, Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) is a dynamic organisation under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resources. Governed by the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act 2001 (PSMB Act 2001), PSMB was given the mandate by the Malaysian Government to catalyse the development of competent local workforce that will contribute to the nation’s vision of becoming a high-income economy

Since its inception, PSMB has evolved from managing a sizeable fund to becoming a one-stop-centre for providing novel human capital development solutions to the critical mass of Malaysian small medium enterprises.

Well positioned to offer robust and prudent solutions, it aims to have Malaysia move up the Global Competitiveness Index by enhancing both regional and global competitiveness, propelling the country towards being a high income nation by Year 2020.

In line with the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP), the Malaysian Government also initiated several programmes that focus on accelerating human capital development through four major areas. These include:

Improving the efficiency of the labour market to accelerate economic growth;

Transforming technical & vocational education to meet industry demand;

Strengthening lifelong learning for skills enhancement; and

Improving the quality of education system for better student outcomes & institutional excellence.

HRDF CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION 2018

HR EXCELLENCE: CHANGE IS FUNDAMENTAL TO SURVIVAL – CHALLENGE EVERYTHING

The HRDF Conference & Exhibition is Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) also known as the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF)’s annual flagship event. It brings together a community of HR as well as Learning & Development practitioners and decision makers who are developing and executing strategies for achieving their respective organisation’s goals and aspirations.

In conjunction with HRDF’s 25th year anniversary, the organisation is determined to present an outstanding conference that will be appreciated for its exceptional speakers and critical content. It is consistently the largest HR Conference in Southeast Asia. Naturally, it attracts the region’s leading professionals and the 2018 edition promises to be better than before.

This year’s conference showcases game changers who are shaping the industry; legends who are defining best practices; and practitioners who are enthusiastically learning and growing with us.

The conference structure will feature a Keynote Address, Plenary, Concurrent and Panel Sessions with a star-studded array of speakers comprising global and local HR industry experts, management gurus and global business leaders.

The sessions will offer attendees the opportunity to gain insights from thought leaders by learning about their inspirations, current thinking and predictions about the future trends on a wide range of topics. The overall schedule is designed to provide maximum time for sessions and networking throughout the day. The conference is structured to leave you revitalised, excited and filled with knowledge to adapt to the many pressures of today’s ever changing marketplace.

The four key areas of the conference are:

CHALLENGING

CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO

Evolve or Dissolve

ADOPTING

ADOPT NEW PRACTICES FOR RAPID GROWTH

The myth or the truth

LIVING

ACHIEVE HR EXCELLENCE

Live your brand to delight your customers

DIGITALISATION

HARMONISE THE ‘NEW’ AND THE ‘OLD’ IN A DIGITILISED WORLD

Change WE MUST

Change is the only constant in life and is the hallmark of every human endeavour. Embracing transformation is crucial for progress and innovation. It is the first step in replacing old, outdated systems with fresh ideas. Change is fundamental to a business’s survival.

It is wiser to anticipate change, act decisively, prepare for it and capitalise on it. Existing realities must always make way for more progressive concepts.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) is a harbinger of massive change and has far-reaching consequences. This conference offers timely insights on surviving and succeeding during time where automation, data exchange, cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things, cloud computing and cognitive computing are transforming our way of working and living.

The conference is designed to inculcate an appreciation for change, and the management of it. This is especially relevant in today’s world where the accelerating pace of technological innovation accelerates the impact of change.
